Canon Point: The end of Xillia 2, returning back to the spirit realm

History: Wiki
Personality: Despite her limited knowledge about humans, there are many moments throughout her journey that shows that she's wiser than she seems. It actually causes many of the party members to reflect on their own troubles. While they struggle with some sort of problem in their lives, her advice gives them another way to think about what to do and allows the recipient to deal with their problems head on.

Mixed with her own headstrong personality and her strong conviction over her mission, she's unintentionally helped her friends understand their own shortcomings. Although she was very dependent on the Four, she was able to master swordsmanship in an astonishingly quick pace; Alvin even stated that she had moved past the basics in such a short amount of time. This shows that she's a fast learner and seems pick up on things quickly.

Although she can come as persistent and stubborn when it comes to her mission, it just shows that her conviction to protect all living things is very important to her; Losing the Four only strengthened her resolve. She'd stop at nothing to carry out her duties, even if it meant risking her life in many situations, coming off as reckless. Even after losing the use of her legs, she was still determined to do what she set out to do. The aspyrixis helped her gain use of her legs again, but did not help keep her from pushing herself too far. The aspyrixis was painful to adjust to, but she retaliated saying the pain of having something to do and no way of achieving it was more painful than any pain she felt then.

She's quite fond of humans, although it doesn't really show that much at the beginning. She has it a habit of deliberating over human behavior. The first time she tried food, she was hooked to it and always wanted more. It's commented plenty of times during the journey how she was always efficient, but constantly hungry. Protecting all living things is her priority and eventually that extends to both humans and spirits alike.

At the beginning, Milla was always so dependent on the Four great spirits. There were a number of problems that became very clear over time. Just a few examples to note is her admittance that she used Sylph to guide her arm while fighting as well as flying to place to place over walking, calling it "grueling". She used Undine to travel across water. She never had to eat because Sylph and Undine took care of ever needing any kind of substance to get by. Alvin even accused her of using the Four as her personal slaves. She retorted with saying that they were the ones and insisted to help and they were like "a bunch of bickering in-laws". Eventually she started to become more independent once she lost the power of the Four and grew stronger as a result.

Throughout the twenty years that she'd lived with the Four, she rarely had any connection to other people beyond her worshipers and the Four, not really having much information about humans past the books she read. She even admitted to the Jude and Alvin that she rarely even spoke to her worshipers due to how they act towards her.

She doesn't seem to really care about others in the beginning if it's for the greater good of her mission as well as man/spirit kind. It didn't bother her about what happened to the people of Hamil once Rashugal invaded. It was necessary for her goals, after all. She even stated that she would allow Elize to come with, but would not hesitate to leave her behind if she wasn't able to keep up or got in the way of her mission. She always put reason and duty in front of emotion or sentiment. Focusing on those would only interfere with her mission and she had to complete it at any cost. Eventually she began to appreciate life more dearly over time, deciding that bother humans and spirits were important to her.

Many people grew up assuming Maxwell, the Lord of Spirits, was omnipotent. Unlike popular opinion, she does not know everything and often reasons that she's not expected to know every human created term or general knowledge. The truth of the matter is that she -- herself -- was initially just a human lied to all her life to believe she was the real Maxwell until she really took over as Maxwell. She never made it much of a habit to leave her shrine, much less the village of Nia Khera. Much of what she knows of the human world come from admittedly strange books that give her a strange outlook on what's considered "normal" for humans. Even after everything, she still actively reads human books to try to understand them better.

Milla claimed that she chose the form of a human woman to blend in and function better in the human world to do her mission as Maxwell. She also does not hide the fact that she chose the form she had with the intention as coming of as an attractive woman, showing that she does seem a little vain in her appearance. She's also noted that her hair is her "crowning glory" and that despite the fact that Ivar was the one who picked out her outfit, she likes it because it is comfortable and easy to move in. That said, the concept of gender means nothing to her in the end and only picked the form that would be most suitable for her cause.

Abilities: Milla fights using a sword, presenting some pretty impressive skill. Initially she used Sylph to help guide her arm, showing a major flaw once she was on her own after the Four became trapped in the Lance of Kresnik. She's a quick learner and with the help of Alvin, she mastered the art of the sword in such a short amount of time, as noted in a skit with Alvin.

She was given a Lilium Orb to aid her in battles by Ivar. The Lilium Orb allows her to learn more skills, artes, and allow for linking with somebody else with a Lilium Orb in the game. After the Schism was dispelled, the mana was too much for the Lilium Orbs to handle and were then transformed into the Allium Orbs to do the same job. This -- of course -- will not be usable here and will just be a pretty looking sphere at best.

I mentioned artes while explaining about the Orbs, but artes are a mixture of spiritual (magic) and martial (physical) abilities. Overall, they just increase her general ability to fight. Artes are yet another thing that will not work here. Spirit artes in particular are used through symbiosis of spirits offering their magic in exchange for mana from the user. Because spirits also do not exist here, this would be unlikely to work here unless there was a workaround.

Milla's greatest weapon is the power to command the Four great spirits of water, wind, earth, and fire (Undine, Sylph, Gnome, and Efreet). Although she has this ability, it's less commanding and more of a friendly exchange between them. They are under the control of Maxwell, but despite the past remain loyal to Milla. When a great spirit dies, it is reborn anew with a different personality and look on life. For obvious reasons, they will not be arriving with her; Although they're be here in the form of plushies.

Item Regains:
Allium Orb: A pretty looking orb. What a confidence booster.
Aspyrixis: A pretty gem that seems to have lost power. Got a leg up in the competition.
Foam Sword: A toy sword. You're a cut above the rest.
Plush Spirits: Cute looking plush creatures. You'll always be together.

Physical Form: 100% hum-- Maxwell
